Even the best of us are prone to an attack of the green-eyed monster.
For example, if your colleague has a better lunch than you, this can legitimately elicit jealousy.
Or when someone you know is posts incessantly about their tropical holiday while you eat yet another desk sandwich – this too warrants feelings of envy.
It’s a human emotion and we all experience it.
Acting on it, however, is generally considered a bad idea.
It’s a shame no one told one young man, who reportedly text a bar asking them to essentially spy on his girlfriend while she went on a hen do.
The anonymous man allegedly text Filthy’s bar and club.
It read: “Hi, My girlfriend is headed with a hen party this weekend to Filthys [sic].
“I was wondering if I would be able to pay a member of staff to keep an eye on her and make sure theres[sic] no men at their table etc.
“I don’t want the staff member to let the group know.”
It’s not the sort of text anyone would want their partner sending, being both creepy and slightly bullyish.
Luckily the bar thought so too and published their response on their Facebook page.
“For anybody else considering offering us cash to casually stalk their partners…we are a bar, not private investigators / professional perverts.”
Being a canny business, they also turned it into an advertising opportunity, continuing:
“We can however add some finishing touches to the reserved area such as personalised name cards and bubbly on arrival!”
While a worrying amount of people were tagging their partners adding sentiments along the lines of “this would be you”, most others were unimpressed by the unnamed man’s controlling actions.
“Hahaha what an absolute loser this plonker is,” one man wrote, which, trust us, is one of the nicer comments.
