A Brit dad-of-five is being held in a Turkish jail for trying to take home a few coins he found snorkelling on holiday.
Toby Robyns, 52, was reportedly arrested in front of his family as they prepared to fly home from Bodrum Airport after their fortnight-long break in Turgutreis.
The Ambulance driver, of Southwick, near Brighton, West Sussex, has been held on suspicion of “finding Turkish artefacts without notifying authorities” which carries a three-year jail sentence.
Toby is said to have picked up 13 old coins he found while scuba diving, and decided to take them home as souvenirs.
But when airport security staff found them in his hand luggage – they deemed them historical treasures.
Family pal James Stoneham, 47, told The Sun : “They are accusing him of taking Turkish artefacts which he was obviously unaware of.
“It was a huge shock for everybody. This was harmless…
